Thanks to everyone who came along, we wish you all a good Summer Holidays and hope to see you again in the Autumn Term.
Although we lost a few coaches after COVID, we are pleased to have welcomed David Booth, formerly of Raans Gym Club in Chesham, who is also the Bucks County General Gym Competition Organiser.
.
We have had 2 mums who have started helping in the classes their children attend. If anyone else wants to help please talk to Maureen or Kirsty.
Thanks to those who help with equipment setup on Mondays, Wednesdays and, usually, Friday evenings. Special thanks must go to Kirstie Elliot who makes the journey from Butlers Cross every Monday and Friday to help with setup, and to Michi Barnard who has been a mainstay of helping with setup on Fridays.
On the subject of equipment please remember that those who take part in the final session of each day should help, or get their parents to help(!), with equipment pack away. We have some parents who do help, but every pair of hands helps relieve the work load.
Finally can we request that you let us know of any changes as soon as possible. This includes requests for class changes or notification of leaving the club. Then we can start to work out next terms sessions earlier rather than a last minute rush!

Changes Happening Autumn Term
|
|
Firstly we will no longer be accepting cash, even for badges etc. All payments should now be made by Bank Transfer or by credit/debit card at the gym.
Secondly we will be running down our stock of leotards, and, once exhausted parents will be able to order direct from the suppliers. For orders from the Zone, we can supply a customer code that gives a discount. More information to follow.

New Proficiency and Pre-School Awards
|
British Gymnastics, after over 50 years, decided to stop their Proficiency and pre-School award schemes, and have introduced a new system that is really aimmed at larger Clubs with their own dedicated facilities.
Therefore we have introduced our own Proficiency Award system, that uses the old award system elements, but our own badges and certificates.
These have already been awarded to some of the gymnasts.
Now we are working on Pre-School awards, and hope to have them ready for the start of next term.
Initial designs are ready to go to the Badge producers, and here is a preview

British Gymnastics Fees and Registration
|
British Gymnastics membership renewal date is October 1st, and must be done during September to ensure continued insurance cover.
As last year you will need to register, and pay for BG membership, directly with them.
They have just informed us that, for next year membership will be going up, for general members, by £1, to £20.
They will inform us that payment has been made, and only then will your child be insured to take part in gymnastics activities after end of September.
New members MUST register with BG before the start of their third session.
If you have any queries please talk to Roger about it.

Ways to help with fundraising
|
|
When you shop online, you can raise extra funds towards the Centre at no additional cost to you.
So far over £1500 has been raised by about 30 supporters.
|
|
|
Instead of using Amazon use Smile.Amazon and you can help raise funds for the Club.
|
|
£24 buys 12 months of tickets. Every month there is the possibility of winning up to £25.
We are hoping to restart this next year

Do you hate those pesky 1p/2p/5p coins?
We love them and will happily accept any you don't want!

General Safety at Prestwood Junior School
|
We will continue to try to have a Trustee or senior coach on the door for 15 minutes before the start of each gymnastics sessions and for a further 5 minutes after the end of each gymnastics session to let people in.
Please do not let anyone in for any reason. If someone comes to the door, please ask them to ring the bell and a senior coach will come out to let them in as soon as possible.
We appreciate your co-operation with this important request, which is designed to help ensure the safety of all our gymnasts.
Gymnasts are not allowed to open the front door at school to let anyone in, even their own parents or guardians.
